Covid-19 Update from Dr Musa’s Practice
I hope you and your families are keeping well and staying safe during these unprecedented and difficult times.
With the COVID-19 situation continuing to evolve, we understand the challenging climate you may be facing, and we are doing our very best to support you in accessing necessary healthcare. The situation around novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve putting added strain on the healthcare system and society generally.
It is also a distressing time for patients who need to see a specialist but unclear of their exposure risks and expectations when attending the clinic.
Carina and Sunnybank Clinics
The health and well-being of our patients, staff and the community are paramount, therefore our clinics have implemented measures to the risk of transmission of any communicable illness. Our clinics are requesting any patient with a cough, sore throat, fever and breathing difficultly to postpone their consult and seek their GP’s advice if their condition is worsening.
We have also increased our clinic infection control measures and request all patient to wash their hands upon arrival and practice social distancing in waiting rooms.
We are still open so you can contact either of the clinics to make a booking.
The Health Minister has recently announced availability of Telephone /Video consult for all patients from 30th March 2020. Telehealth is essential to reducing the community spread of COVID-19 and protecting doctors, staff, and patients from this virus. It is all about making the community safer.
It is however very important to stress that a large proportion of our services of course require face-to-face treatment. These patients can be seen in the clinic with strict adherence to hand hygiene and social distancing. Of course, if you are unwell with flu like symptoms please reschedule or ask for a telehealth consult if you have any urgent questions.
If all of us do our bit, we can get through this pandemic.
Consulting rooms are located conveniently at Gateway Specialist Center, Carina and Sunnybank Specialist Centre. Please view site pages for location and contact details.
Dr Musa advises her valued patients who are unable to phone in to the Carina Clinics to try the “contact us” form or email the centre at firstname.lastname@example.org. There are currently some problems with the phone system and the center is working to resolve the issues.
